Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering
To check your eligibility for your desired program, you need to fulfill the 3 sections of the below admission criteria.

- Main Faculty Requirements that are considered the main pillars for program eligibility.
- Requirements Per High School Curriculum which is the fulfillment of main faculty requirements according to your studied curriculum.
English Proficiency Requirement
The below scores ensure your exemption from any English Preparatory Courses provided by UPEI, Cairo Campus (EAP courses). Otherwise, you will be registered for EAP courses according to your English Language Proficiency level.

Main Faculty Requirements
Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering: Grade 12 Academic Math, English, two Sciences chosen from Biology, Chemistry or Physics and one other academic subject; an overall average of 70% minimum with no grade below 65% and at least 70% in Grade 12 Academic Math.
Note: For students who may not be hitting the score of a subject required for admission into a specific faculty, or students requiring a transition program to university from High School, the UPEI Cairo Campus is prepared to provide a pathway that will allow qualified students to either register into a Gateway Program or as an Unclassified Student.”
Requirements Per High School Curriculum
The assessment for American High-School Diploma is based on 5 Academic courses including the English, Math 2 Sciences from (Chemistry, Biology or Physics) prerequisites. Courses must be studied mainly in Grade 12 satisfying the admission criteria of the requested faculty with the below conditions.

- Presentation of completed high-school diploma from a recognized academic Grade 12 program
- At least 4 different subjects at the matriculation level must be presented within the diploma
- Only 1 course may be used for admission purposes from the Grade 11 level
- SAT, ACT, and EST scores are not required for admission but may be used for admission reference
Assessment for IGCSE curriculum is based on 5 ‘O’ levels and 1 AS/AL in Math with minimum grade C studied in Grades 10, 11 & 12

- Admission from Grade 11: This is for the exceptional student with at least 85% in Grades 10 and 11, who is highly recommended by the school (at least two letters), and who has written parental permission. Students with special aptitudes who may not have 85% will also be considered.

The assessment for Thanaweyya Amma students is based on 5 academic courses studied in the Final High-School year ‘3rd Secondary’ including the English, Math and Sciences prerequisites satisfying Sustainable Design Engineering criteria.

- 2nd Secondary Math grade is required during application submission for science section for evaluation.
- The overall Thanaweyya Amma score earned is not a base for evaluation but may be used for admission reference.
Baccalaureat or Diplome de Bachelier de l'Enseignement du Second Degre where a minimum of 11/20 Terminale GPA is required for direct entry to Sustainable Design Engineering satisfying the English , Math & Sciences course requirements.
- Transcript for grades 11, 12, and 13 (university prep). Abitur/Zeugnis der Allgemeinen
Hochschulreife/Reifezeugnis (Certificate of General University Maturity) - A minimum of 9 overall in the Abitur and a minimum of 3 (befriedigend) overall in the others mentioned above are required for admission
The Assessment for Canadian Diploma students depends on the High-School province followed fulfilling the main faculty requirements mentioned above.

Quebec | Quebec Secondary V students may be admitted with qualifying courses (Eng 516, and Math 536, 534 Sciences where applicable), and with an overall average of 75%. The assessment for STEM students is based on 5 academic courses studied in the Final High-School year ‘3rd Secondary’ including the English, Math & Sciences prerequisites satisfying Business Administration admission criteria.

- 2nd Secondary Math grade is required during application submission if it was not studied in the final year.
- The overall STEM score earned is not a base for evaluation but may be used for admission reference.

- Nile Students must complete the 12 years of schooling for admission to UPEI, Cairo Campus.
- Transcript for grades 10, 11, and 12. Or Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) results issued directly by WAEC (to be verified online).
- For WAEC, we require a minimum of grade C4 (Numeric value of 4) , on the relevant required subjects assessed for the program of entry application submitted to UPEI.
- A minimum of C+ in the KCSE is required for admission.
Note: Our accepted curriculums include but are not limited to the above-mentioned curriculums. Other certificates are evaluated based on our general faculty requirements by the admissions’ office.
