SSP sessions are generally provided in study rooms. However, some sessions can be scheduled in classrooms across campus. It is important to note that once a calendar invitation is sent to students, the location will remain the same until the end of the semester

Who is providing SSP sessions?

Can I choose between a TA and a Student Mentor?

SSP officer will try to accommodate the student’s preference for TA or student mentor, as long as both the student’s and the mentor’s schedules allow it.

What if I want to change something in my SSP schedule?

If you have issues with your schedule, you can contact the SSP officers, and every effort will be made to accommodate your request with the resources available.

Can I opt out from attending SSP sessions if I am NOT on good academic standing?

SSP sessions are mandatory for all students on academic probation or those enrolled in the Gateway program.

Can students on good academic standing attend SSP sessions?

Yes, they certainly can! Students of good academic standing are welcome to join anytime by contacting the SSP office.

Why was I contacted by the SSP office after midterms?

Students’ academic performance is constantly monitored, and if an area for improvement is recognized, students are called for a Student Success meeting at the SSP office to discuss potential areas for improvement.

What happens during the student success meetings?

You will meet with a student success officer who will disclose what areas of improvement your instructors notice. The student and the SSP officer will assess the reasons for unsatisfactory academic performance and, based on discussion, propose a possible strategy for student improvement.
