Scholarships
UPEI Cairo Campus actively supports students in achieving their educational goals by offering numerous merit-based scholarships. We award scholarships to students who demonstrate special qualifications, such as academic excellence, athletic achievements, or artistic talents. To be considered, recipients must meet the eligibility criteria and submit all required official documents. In cases where a student qualifies for multiple scholarships or awards, they will receive only the one with the highest value.
Newcomers
Merit Award
High school-based award reflected on the categories below applied for the 1st year only (non-renewable)
- The categories A, B, or C are determined by the admissions office upon eligibility based on the applicant’s High-School average.

- Awards will be posted to the student’s account at the beginning of each semester, following full-time registration (defined as a minimum of 9 semester credit hours).
- Eligible students entering UPEI Cairo Campus for the first time in January will qualify for the second semester scholarship only, which will be posted to the student’s account following full-time registration.
- Furthermore, students taking Full EAP Preparatory Courses qualify for the second-semester scholarship if they successfully pass the course in the first semester and register for credit courses.
- However, students enrolled in the Gateway Program do not qualify for the Merit Award.
Eligibility Criteria:
- The student must have an offer of admission and have received a UofCanada ID number.
- Awards are confirmed upon receipt of final official high school transcripts.
- Moreover, awards are automatically posted to a student’s account following full-time registration.

President’s Gold Full Scholarship: (Egyptians only)
We grant the President’s Gold Full Scholarship to the top 100 students with the highest GPAs from the Egyptian Certificate Thanaweya Amma, STEM, and Nile Schools.
To apply for this scholarship, candidates must:
- Complete the online application, provide all supporting admission documents and meet the program’s admission requirements

Gen Z Leaders Scholarship
Gen Z Leaders Scholarship provides up to 15% for Fall 2025.
This scholarship celebrates graduating high school students who harness creativity and innovation to make a positive impact on society. Whether through leadership, extracurricular involvement, or community service, we are seeking individuals who embody the spirit of positive change.
Creative and talented individuals proficient in visual arts, dance, music, creative writing, photography, and more are encouraged to apply. Showcase your talents through videos, documentation, or social media shares that highlight your unique contributions to the world.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Complete the online application (UPEI application form) and meet the admission requirements of the desired program of study.
- Receive an Admission Offer and Student ID.
- Submit a comprehensive CV and personal statement detailing your contributions and activities.
- Provide documentation, videos, or creative works showcasing your talent and impact.
Application Process:
- Complete the Gen Z Scholarship form here.
- Submit accompanying video/documentation showcasing the creative project.
- We will announce the submission deadline soon.
- Winners will be publicly announced after the selection process is completed.
Athletic Scholarship Categories: (Egyptian Nationals only)
1- International Competitions:
Students participating in international competitions will be eligible for the following discounts based on their ranking:
Individual sports:
- First Place: 100% scholarship.
- Second Place: 75% scholarship.
- Third Place: 50% scholarship.
Team sports:
- First Place: 75% scholarship.
- Second Place: 50% scholarship.
- Third Place: 25% scholarship.
Eligible Competitions:
- International Ranking Tournaments
- World Cups
- Olympic Games
- African Championships
- Continental Championships
- Arab Championships
- Regional Competitions
2- National Competitions:
Students achieving success in national-level competitions will receive the following incentives: (individual and team sports).
- First Place: 30% scholarship.
- Second Place: 20% scholarship.
- Third Place: 10% scholarship.
Eligible Competitions:
- National League (General League)
- Egypt Cup
- National Championships
- Associated League
- Any newly introduced competitions
Eligibility Criteria:
- Submit official documents verifying eligibility for Athletic Scholarship (awards, certificates, current athletic status, etc.). The certificate must be updated yearly and stamped by any of these official entities:
- The Game Federation
- The Olympic Committee
- The Supreme Council for Youth and Sports
- Completed the admission application form, received an ID number and paid tuition deposit , for First-Year students.
- Achieve a minimum high school overall average of 75% upon admission for First-Year students.
- Full-time registration in September and January, summer and repeated courses are not included.
General Notes:
- Scholarships will be posted to a student’s account at the beginning of each semester and following full-time registration, defined as a minimum of 3 courses.
- Renewal of awards is not automatic; students need to apply every year for the scholarship and present the required documents.
- The deadline to submit this form is the add/drop deadline.
- Continue to practice their sport and play tournaments under the name of Universities of Canada.
Returning Students
Academic Excellence Awards: (Open to all eligible UPEI Cairo Campus Students)
UPEI Cairo Campus students entering their second, third, or fourth year of study in a first undergraduate degree are also eligible for Academic Excellence Awards based on their grade performance at the University.

Eligibility Criteria:
- Students automatically qualify for Academic Excellence Awards based on their CGPA at the UPEI Cairo Campus.
- Moreover, students must maintain full-time registration status, with a minimum of 3 credit courses each semester during Fall, Winter, and summer.
- Academic Excellence Awards are calculated and assigned automatically.
- Marks will be assessed every year after the students’ first year at UPEI Cairo Campus.
- For students who start in the Winter intake, those with at least 5 credit courses will be eligible for an academic excellence award in the following year.
- Please note: The availability and monetary value of all scholarships are subject to change.

Eligibility Criteria for Renewal
- Full-time registration in September and January (summer not included) .
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.3 and above throughout study for the scholarship annual renewal.

- Maintenance of a minimum GPA of 3.3 in the selected program.
- Continued enrollment exclusively at the Cairo campus for the chosen program throughout undergraduate studies.
- Active participation and engagement within the program.
- Value: Up to 15% annually, renewable each year. Disbursement occurs at the onset of Fall and Winter semesters, contingent upon full-time enrollment.
