Teaching Assistant - Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering

The Universities of Canada in Egypt hosting University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI) in Egypt invites applicants with specialization in Mechanical /Mechatronics  starting June 2025.

As the future faculty members, Teaching Assistants at Universities of Canada are expected to develop their academic, research and administrative skills and are expected to enhance the academic life of the university with their new initiatives and innovative minds. They are expected to positively contribute to both student development though actively engaging with the students inside and outside classrooms to mentor their learning, skills, and attitudes; as well as school development though participation in faculty administration and proposing new initiatives. Last, but not least, TAs are expected to actively pursue their own self-development towards a successful career in Academia.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in the preparation and delivery of the lectures/labs/tutorials of the assigned courses.
  • Maintaining regular communication/facilitation with the students through office hours.
  • Updating attendance records and sending absence notifications.
  • Posting materials /assignments on student portals.
  • Keeping (under supervision of course Instructor) track of and updating grade records in a timely manner.
  • Co- responsible (in cooperation with and under supervision of course instructor) for correction of assignments, projects and exams
  • Participates in different academic and development committees as assigned by the department head of the school.
  • Contributing to students’ development and extracurricular activities.
  • Conducting research as part of his/her own development, as well as, faculty research projects and directions.
  • Other duties as may be required.

Required skills/qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in the area of Mechanical /Mechatronics with a minimum GPA of 3.7
  • Preferably 1-2 years of teaching experience
  • Excellent command of English language
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Excellent teamwork and organizational skills
  • Compassionate, positive, and professional attitude
  • High level of responsibility and commitment.
  • Ability to take and implement initiatives contributing to the development of the school.
