As students step into the world of higher education, many seek guidance on how to transition from the classroom to the workplace. Our Career Development Center serve as pivotal resources, bridging the gap between academic learning and professional ambitions. By offering specialized tools, resources, and personalized advising, we help students prepare for internships, jobs, and long-term career success.

Our goal is to provide UofCanada students with the right tools for career planning and successful employment through; an array of career advising services and employability skills programs to support students’ personal and career development to meet employers’​ hiring needs. In addition, we build corporate partnerships and liaise with companies to avail experiential and career opportunities, and help employers reach and attract the right talent.

Career Fair '25: Connecting Students with Real-World Opportunities

Organized by the Career Development Center, Career Fair ’25 brought together over 30 top companies, offering students and alumni direct access to internships, jobs, and valuable career connections. 

Banque Misr joined as Main Sponsor, with Deraya Insurance Brokerage as Gold Sponsor, and QNB, Eva Pharma, ArcelorMittal, and MDP as Silver Sponsors. In addition to the sponsors, a wide range of leading organizations participated as exhibitors, further enriching the experience for attendees. 

Through dynamic booths and insightful conversations, students explored various industries and built strong professional networks. The event reflects UPEI Cairo Campus ongoing mission to empower students to find their genius and step confidently into their future.

University Internship Program

A summer internship is a very good opportunity to get crucial work experience during your summer holiday period, whilst developing industry contacts, making networks, and even earning reasonable money.

Summer internships are available to any undergraduate student but will require candidates to undergo a strenuous application, interview, and assessment process.

Students are hired based on the needs of each department. They are requested to work for a minimum of one week (5 days, 7 hours per day) and a maximum of 8 weeks. Students can work on a full-time or part-time basis depending on the department’s needs and the availability of the students.

  • Notes:
    • Students are compensated on a weekly basis.
    • Students would follow the same rules that apply to regular staff members, as per HR policies.
    • Students sign the contract on the first day of employment.

Work Study Program

What is the Work-Study Program?

Students work with various offices, departments, or academic faculties for a set number of hours and receive hourly compensation at the end of the semester, either as cash or a tuition fee deduction.

Why do we have this program on campus?

The work-study program helps students build knowledge and develop skills. It gives them the opportunity to explore new interests and learn through direct, practical experience.

Our Responsibility Toward Accepted Students:

  1. Guide and mentor them.
  2. Help them acquire knowledge.
  3. Teach them business etiquette and ethics.
  4. Treat them as trainees, offering support and assistance.

    • All students are eligible.
  • Frequency:
    • Every semester.
  • Additional Information:
    • Students are compensated on an hourly basis.
    • Minimum hours: 30 hours/semester (about 2.5 hours per week).
    • Maximum hours: 120 hours/semester (about 10 hours per week).
