Sunday, May 4th, 2025
UPEI Cairo Campus proudly hosted one of its most anticipated annual events, Design Expo 2025, bringing together industry experts, faculty, and students to celebrate engineering innovation, creativity, and real-world problem-solving. The event showcased 12 student-led projects developed across multiple cohorts, with a focus on sustainable technology, accessibility, and industry collaboration. The expo was held on campus in partnership with industry leaders Schneider Electric, SolarTec Valley, Infinity S.A.E., and Canadian partner Ryan Vaughan. Kicking off with an energizing opening speech, followed by remarks from corporate partners, the day unfolded with project pitches, live displays, and interactive sessions that highlighted the students’ technical skills, creativity, and dedication. The projects ranged from accessible sports technology for visually impaired athletes to hybrid solar systems and smart industrial designs, each aiming to address real-world challenges. Special awards were presented by Dr. Ramy Sallam, President of Universities of Canada in Egypt, and Dr. Rasha El Shafei, Associate Provost and Associate Dean of the Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering, in recognition of the students’ innovation, impact, and technical excellence.
