What is the scholarship scheme for UPEI Cairo Campus?

UPEI Cairo Campus supports students and their educational goals by offering a number of scholarships based on merit. Scholarships are offered to students with special qualifications such as academic, athletic, or artistic talents. Recipients must meet the eligibility criteria and support their application with all the necessary official documents. In cases where students qualify for more than one scholarship/award, students will receive the award of the highest value only.

Note 1: Awards will be posted to the student’s account at the beginning of each semester and following full-time registration, defined as a minimum of 9 semester credit hours.

Note 2: Eligible students entering UPEI Cairo Campus for the first time in January will qualify for the second semester scholarship only and will be posted on a student’s account following the student’s full-time registration.

Note 3: Students taking EAP (1 or 2), Preparatory or Foundation Courses qualify for the entrance scholarship.

Note 4: Students taking Full EAP Preparatory Courses qualify for the second-semester scholarship only if the student passed the course in the first semester and registered for credit courses. 

Note 5: Students enrolled in the Gateway Program do not qualify for the Entrance Scholarship. 

Note 6: National students eligible for guaranteed entrance award /merit scholarships will receive the highest percentage among them.

Eligibility Criteria:

    • The student has an offer of admission and received a UofCanada ID number.
    • Awards will be confirmed for a guarantee upon receipt of final official high school transcripts.
    • Awards are automatically posted to a student’s account following full-time registration.

UPEI Cairo Campus students entering their second, third, or fourth year of study in a first undergraduate degree are eligible for Academic Excellence Awards based upon their grade performance at the University.

Eligibility Criteria:

    • Students will automatically qualify for Academic Excellence Awards based on grade performance at the UPEI Cairo Campus in the previous academic year, September to August, and as per the chart above.
    • A student’s grade performance is calculated as a weighted overall academic average, which includes all numeric grades received in courses completed weighted by the number of credit hours assigned to each course.
    • Students must maintain full-time registration status
    • Academic Excellence Awards will be calculated and assigned automatically.
    • Marks will be automatically assessed every May after the student’s first year at the UPEI Cairo Campus. If the student does not qualify after the first year, he/she can still earn an Academic Excellence Award in the following year if his/her marks improve.

The President’s Gold Full Scholarship is granted to the top 100 (as published) for the Egyptian Certificate “Thanawiya Ama, STEM and Nile Schools” (in recognition of the highest GPAs).

Eligibility Criteria for Renewal

  • Full-time registration in September and January.
  • Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 and above throughout study for the scholarship annual renewal.

To apply for this scholarship, candidates must: 

  1. Complete the online application, provide all supporting admission documents and meet the program’s admission requirements

  2. Apply for President’s Gold Full Scholarship form.

Note: Please note that your scholarship application will not be considered until the university’s application form and all admission documents are submitted
  • Full Scholarship for individual sport achievement at an international level (1st, 2nd, or 3rd place).
  • 50 % Scholarship for team sports achievement at an international level (1st, 2nd, or 3rd place).
  • 30 % for individual or team sport at a national tournament level or the Egyptian Universities Sports Federation (1st place).
  • 20 % for individual or team sport at a national tournament level or the Egyptian Universities Sports Federation (2nd place).
  • 10 % for individual or team sport at a national tournament level or the Egyptian Universities Sports Federation (3rd place)

Eligibility Criteria:

    • Submit official documents verifying eligibility for Athletic Scholarship (awards, certificates, current athletic status, etc.). The certificate must be updated yearly and stamped by any of the following official entities:
      • The Game Federation
      • The Olympic Committee,
      • The Supreme Council for Youth and Sports,
      • The Egyptian Universities Sports Federation for continuing students.
    • Minimum high school overall average of 75% upon admission for first-year students for the academic year of 2022-2023
    • Minimum Thanaweya Amma average of 70% upon admission for first-year students for the academic year of 2022-2023
    • Have completed the admission application form, received an ID number, and paid the tuition deposit.
    • Full-time registration in September and January
    • Maintain good academic standing (CGPA 2.7) and above throughout years of study for continuing students. Marks will be automatically assessed every May after the student’s first year at UPEI Cairo Campus. 
    • Continue to practice their sport and compete in tournaments under the name of Universities of Canada.

General Notes:

        • The scholarship will be posted to the student’s account at the beginning of each semester and following full-time registration, defined as a minimum of 3 courses.
        • Renewal of award is not automatic, the student needs to apply every year for the scholarship and present the required documents.
        • The deadline to submit this form is by the add/drop deadline.
  • This scholarship is awarded to graduating high school/current students who are creative and have spent time in high school or university developing their artistic, cultural, and/or social talents. Students must demonstrate the influential nature and/or impact of their artistry in their area of expertise: visual arts, performing arts, digital/non-digital media, and/or mass communications.
  •  Eligibility Criteria upon entrance:
    1. Submit a personal statement of contributions and activities.
    2. Qualify for admission with a minimum 75% average from high school.
    3. Demonstrated excellence in the chosen artistic field, supporting documents, and/or certificates required upon application.
  • Eligibility Criteria for renewal:
    1. Full-time registration in the previous academic year for September and January.
    2. Must be in good academic standing (minimum CGPA 2.7)
    3. Demonstrated growth in artistic endeavors
  • Value: Up to 15% annually and renewable. Issued in the Fall and Winter semesters only posted to a student’s account at the beginning of each semester, following full-time registration.
UofCanada-ASRT Scholarship has been created to provide the top high school students from STEM and Nile schools equal opportunities for the education of the international Branch Campus at the Administrative Capital of Egypt. The scholarship aims at attracting top STEM and Nile students who don’t only enjoy academic excellence, but also special talents, leadership skills, innovative mindset, entrepreneurial spirit, community involvement, or any other achievements that would positively contribute to the development of Egypt. 
 
Scholarship Guidelines: 
  1. The full (100%) scholarship is granted to students with a min. average grade of 85% or equivalent in the high school certificate who also demonstrate strong nonacademic skills as proven by their letter of intent (800-1000 words). Adding supporting documents demonstrating leadership potential will increase the chance of acquiring the scholarship. 
  2. To maintain the full scholarship throughout the duration of the study, students must maintain an average grade equivalent to GPA 4.0 for UPEI  (in their chosen program of study). Otherwise, the scholarship amount will drop to 50% of the regular fees. Students can’t be on academic probation at any point of time during their studies. Scholarship evaluation and revision is done on an annual basis.
  3. Students must meet the admission requirements of the preferred program at  UPEI.
  4. Students must enroll as full-time undergraduate status .
  5. They must be 16-years of age or older by September 1, 2022, and not older than 20 years at same date.  
  6. Scholarship recipients will be liable to pay any non-tuition fee items which may be required for the program, such as books, toolkits or materials.  
  7. The UofCanada-ASRT Scholarship is non-exchangeable, non-transferable, and no cash alternative is offered.  
  8. UofCanada has the right to verify the student’s information presented in both the application and the letter of intent. 
  9. UofCanada and its hosted universities can use the winners’ names, application information, and additional marketing assets for promotion purposes.
  10. The UofCanada ASRT Scholarship only applies while completing their undergraduate studies at the Cairo campus of the chosen program.

UofCanada- Education First Foundation Scholarship has been created to provide the top Thanaweya Amma students equal opportunities for the education of the international Branch Campus at the Administrative Capital of Egypt. The scholarship aims at attracting top Thanaweya Amma students who don’t only enjoy academic excellence, but also special talents, leadership skills, innovative mindset, entrepreneurial spirit, community involvement, or any other achievements that would positively contribute to the development of Egypt.

The Nigeria Top Achievers Scholarship is awarded to Nigerian students who are entering their first year of full-time, four-year undergraduate degree program at UPEI Cairo Campus. This scholarship is​ designed to reward Nigerian applicants who demonstrate high academic excellence and leadership skills.

The scholarship is renewable per year of study for the four years of the Bachelor’s degree and is only applicable to tuition fees.

Scholarship Guidelines:

Otherwise, the scholarship amount will drop to 50% of the regular fees. Students cannot be on academic probation at any point of time during their studies. Scholarship evaluation and revision is done on an annual basis.
  3. To maintain the 50% scholarship throughout the duration of the study, students must maintain an average grade equivalent to GPA 3.3 for UPEI.
  4. To maintain the $1500 discount throughout the duration of the study, students must maintain an average grade equivalent to GPA 2.7 for UPEI.
  5. Students must meet the admission requirements of the preferred program at UPEI.
  6. Students must enroll as full-time undergraduate status.
  7. Scholarship recipients will be liable to pay any non-tuition fee items which may be required for the program, such as books, toolkits or materials.
  8. Students who apply for this scholarship will not be eligible for any other scholarships awarded by UofCanada.
  9. The scholarship is non-exchangeable, non-transferable, and no cash alternative is offered.
  10. UofCanada has the right to verify the student’s information presented in the application.
  11. UofCanada and its hosted universities can use the recipients names, application information, and additional marketing assets for promotion purposes.

Other Financial Considerations:

  1. Siblings of full-time registered students at UofCanada will qualify for a 10% tuition discount.
  2. Students can combine more than one scholarship and a special discount of up to 50%.
  3. Students must register the maximum course load for the Fall and Winter semesters to receive the full Scholarship.
  4. The calculation of the scholarship and discounts is done through the Finance Department based on specific sequence orders.
  5. The combination between academic and athletic scholarships without maximum limitation of percentage.
  6. Adding special discounts for specific professions TBA.
  7. Financial aid criteria and percentage TBA.
