UPEI Cairo Campus Celebrates the Class of 2025 in a Landmark Convocation Ceremony

UPEI Cairo Campus proudly celebrated the graduation of its Fourth Cohort during the 2025 Convocation Ceremony, held on June 22nd. The event marked a major milestone for the Class of 2025 and brought together students, faculty, families, and esteemed guests for a day filled with pride, inspiration, and lasting memories. 

The ceremony opened with the academic procession and national anthems, followed by welcoming remarks delivered by Dr. Kim Critchley, Provost of the University of Prince Edward Island Cairo Campus. Her address set the tone for the day, honoring the graduates’ achievements and the collective effort that brought them to this moment. 

Distinguished guests in attendance included Dr. Wendy Rodgers, President and Vice Chancellor of the University of Prince Edward Island; Dr. Marva Sweeney-Nixon, Associate Vice President Research and Dean; and Dr. Ramy Sallam, President of the Universities of Canada in Egypt. The university was also honored by the presence of H.E. Ulric Shannon, Ambassador of Canada to Egypt, who shared words of encouragement and support on behalf of the Government of Canada. 

The program featured a powerful Valedictorian Speech delivered by Arwa ElOuby, representing the Class of 2025 with a heartfelt reflection on their shared experiences, growth, and aspirations for the future. Her words resonated deeply with the audience and captured the spirit of the day. 

In a warm and inspiring Alumni Address, Ahmed ElGarem welcomed the new graduates into the global UPEI alumni community, encouraging them to stay connected and continue creating impact wherever their paths may lead. 

As degrees were conferred and each graduate crossed the stage, the celebration unfolded with proud cheers, applause, and emotional moments shared with family and friends. The ceremony concluded on a high note with a spectacular live orchestral performance led by renowned composer and music producer Hisham Kharma, creating a memorable and moving finale. 

Convocation 2025 was a celebration of resilience, achievement, and community. It marked the culmination of years of dedication and the beginning of exciting new chapters for every graduate.
